We have all witnessed media reports of the aftermath of mass victim attacks. We see the carnage, and we know that attackers do not show mercy. Victims were innocent and were targeted simply for being a part of a small or large group of people. Whether a bomb, semi-automatic weapon, knife, or vehicle, the attacker strikes quickly and without mercy. Victims may have been dining in a restaurant, relaxing at a bar, participating in school classes, attending a workplace activity, or simply walking on the street. Because of the horrific and effective nature of such attacks, we are often left fearing that little to nothing can be done if the unthinkable happens, and we are caught in such a merciless attack. This is not the case - there is much we can do

This site is based on the work of: Gary M. Jackson Ph.D, Surviving Mass Victim Attacks: What to Do When the Unthinkable Happens, Rowman & Littlefield, 2018. The website is maintained to continue updates to this critical topic and to promote discussion. All discussion is presented with the respect due to the many who have lost their lives or who are continuing to live with injuries and the psychological effects of being a victim. Prevention, self-protection, and successful reaction are complicated topics that can not be handled with simple bullet lists or an article. The book provides the detail necessary to form a foundation that supports survival, what to look for, preventative measures, how to develop a personal security plan, and what to do to increase the probability of survival. This website links the book foundation to continuing threat and incidents.
